Following milestone have been attained in the version.1 of the e-Gov 2.0 Stack for Public/Private Clouds :

1. Integrated Learning Management System
2. Research Paper Repository
3. Integrated Office Suite
4. Blog
5. Content Management System
6. A minimalistic e-Tendering App
7. Integrated Library System
8. LDAP Based Authentication for all the services stated above (Still not SSO based ).
9. Simple Shell Scripts for the easy install of these services

In the next stage for the project the e-Gov 2.0 stack for Public/Private Clouds that will be version.2 following additional feature/road-map are proposed :

1. Common Search Interface (through Nutch) for searching the Blog/Portal/ILS/Research Repository etc.
2. Basic Profile Manager for maintaining and tracking the records of the employees. (Salary/Leaves/Track Record)
3. Upgrading the CMS (Drupal )/Blog (WordPress) /ILS (Koha) to next version.
4. Polishing of the overall product and providing a better Installer
5. Finalizing the license

Debian Squeeze num lock problem #solved

If you update your Debian Squeeze or upgrade your Debian Squeeze System , and after that you observe that the num pad is not working once the GNOME session starts , then you can fix this error by following :

1. Go to System – Preferences – Keyboard
2. Go to mouse keys tab and uncheck “Pointer can be controlled using the keypad”.
3. Check your num pad will work now.

Is your hardware secure #think_twice

Every time we do projects , we do everything to make the IT solution’s secure and try our best shot to make it less vulnerable ( no one can guarantee full security ). But we generally pay 100% attention to the software part but what about hardware ? THINK TWICE.Your views may change immediately after this :

Although those are old news , and their is no guarantee that things like those had actually happened in the past. But may be this is the reason that why thing like following happens :

But the big question “Is their any precaution we can take regarding this ?”. I have reported this to few Government Organization’s where we submitted our tender bids during the eWebSolution’s starting days, but outcomes were sometime good and majority of time bad. :) If you know any solution to problems like this, please comment , on the other hand I would love to see any Indian company coming up with reliable own manufactured Hardware’s :) :) :D :D
